Software for local authority users

28 November 2005

Ludi Simpson, Manchester University

Local authorities have statutory duties to make use of population and housing forecasts. While in-house software has successfully answered local priorities it has also been difficult to maintain. The established Chelmer Model and the more recent POPGROUP family provide off-the-peg software with long-term support.

This presentation focused on the design features of the Excel-based POPGROUP family of software, and its use by local authorities for Council areas and smaller areas.

This presentation is available in pdf format (407 Kb).
