The Household Analysis Review Group (HARG)

Consultation

The Household Analysis Review Group (HARG) is a consultative group concerned with the household estimates and projections produced by the General Register Office for Scotland.  This website provides access to all papers and minutes from HARG meetings. The purpose of the group is to assist GROS to:

  • Maintain relevant good quality official household estimates and projections;
  • Develop small area household estimates;
  • Provide users with sound advice on the basis of household estimates and projections and their use.

Broad Remit

To achieve its purpose the Household Analysis Review Group will review and will advise GROS on:

  1. the need for and uses made of the GROS household estimates and projections;
  2. the data sources used to compile estimates and projections and possible alternatives;
  3. the methodologies used to compile estimates and projections and possible alternatives;
  4. the approaches used to consult / inform all users on methodological and data issues.
