Births, Deaths and Other Vital Events - Quarterly Figures

National Statistics Logo

Correction 31 March 2013
The labels for 'Viral hepatitis' and 'Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) disease' were transposed in Tables Q5 and Q6 for each quarter from Quarter 1 2007 to Quarter 3 2013. This error has been corrected in March 2014.

Quarterly tables contain provisional data on births, deaths, cause of death, marriages and civil partnerships registered in Scotland. Much of this information is broken down by sex, age and area. Listed below is the information on the Quarterly Return of Vital Events for this year and a number of earlier years.

Please note: that all rates included in the quarterly tables up to 3rd Quarter 2013 are based on the population figures which were available prior to the rebasing exercise on 17 December 2013. It is not planned to incorporate the rebased population figures into the quarterly tables until the 4th Quarter 2013 figures are published on 13th March 2014.
