The 2003 mid-year estimates were first published by the Registrar General for Scotland on 30 April 2004. There was a news release announcing the results.
Note: The population estimates for 2003 have been revised after we reviewed our methodology. The revisions affect the 6 council areas of Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Dundee City, Moray and Perth and Kinross. These revised estimates replace the previously published estimates for 2003. Further details of the revisions can be found on the, Revised Mid-year Population Estimates 2003-2006 page.
The more detailed tables, below, for mid-2003, providing an age/sex breakdown for administrative areas (council and health board areas), components of change and land area and densities were published on 25 May 2004. There was a news release announcing these results.
Notes and Definitions are attached.
