This bulletin presents the Registrar General's provisional figures for vital events registered during the period 1 January 2007 to 31 March 2007. A news release, entitled 'Increase in Scottish Births and Deaths' accompanies this report.

Note

Rates for 1996-2000 are based on revised population estimates for 1996-2000, which took account of the final Census-based population estimates for 2001.

NHS Board areas

From 1 April 2006 responsibility for NHS Argyll & Clyde was split between NHS Greater Glasgow (now repeated Greater Glasgow and Clyde) and NHS Highland. Tables Q2, Q3, and Q6 present information for the original NHS Board areas. To assist users the tables also present data for the former NHS Argyll & Clyde, Greater Glasgow and Highland areas.
