We have produced population estimates for the numbers of people in Scotland who are aged 90 to 99 and aged 100 and over (centenarians). The information is provided by sex and single year of age, up to those aged 105 and over.
These estimates were produced working with the Government Actuary's Department (GAD) using the Kannisto-Thatcher methodology.
"Centenarians in Scotland; 2002-2006" provides information on the methodology and background of this work, along with the number of people aged 90 and over, by sex and single year of age.
