Information on the Annual Report

Since civil registration began in 1855 the Registrar General for Scotland (GROS) has prepared a report annually, to be laid before Parliament. Since 1999 it has been laid before the Scottish Parliament.

The Annual Report contains a summary of the numbers of births, deaths and marriages registered during the previous year. In 2001 the format of the report changed to include more commentary and items of topical interest. The Vital Events Reference Tables were made available separately.

You can purchase the latest edition of the Annual Report from us priced £7.00.
