What kind of Census was the one on 29 April 2001?

The national Census on Sunday, 29 April, 2001, was a count of every person who lives in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It counted how many people there were, how they were related to each other, what age they were, where they lived, how they travelled to work, what qualifications they had gained at school or university, what kind of work they did, what kind of houses they lived in, and many more details.
