2009 Census Rehearsal

National Records of Scotland (NRS) - previously the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS) rehearsed its approach to the 2011 census on Sunday 29 March 2009.

The rehearsal, which took place in west Edinburgh and Lewis and Harris, offered most householders the option to complete census questionnaires online for the first time, in English or Gaelic.

The rehearsal has also helped us to identify any necessary refinements to our arrangements for Gaelic speakers, people living in rural areas and those in communal establishments such as hospitals, student accommodation and care homes.

Census Rehearsal Evaluation Report
