Formal Consultations

9 August 2007

We plan to hold three formal 12 week consultation events, before the 2006 Census Test, the 2009 Dress rehearsal and the 2011 Census.

Spring 2007 Census Consultation

In spring 2007 we ran a 12 week consultation to collect views on a number of key topics including questionnaire content, methodology and outputs. You can learn more about this consultation by reading the Spring 2007 Census Consultation (15 March 2007)(359 KB pdf file) document which describes the work carried out by us up to this point and includes a possible Household Form for 2011.

In addition, we held four meetings with Census data users in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness and Edinburgh to outline our thoughts for the 2011 Census and to explain the consultation process.

A copy of the presentation and notes of the points raised at these meetings are available below:

A paper on the "Analysis of Responses to the Spring 2007 Census Consultation"
(7 September 2007)(614 Kb, pdf format) is available to download.

Autumn 2004 Census Consultation

In Autumn 2004 we organised seminars in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness to launch the first of these formal consultations. Learn more about the purpose and content of these seminars by reading the consultation document, Autumn 2004 Census Consultation (11 November 2004)(413 KB pdf file).

A note of the points raised at these seminars is available for both the Edinburgh and Glasgow events held in the Autumn of 2004, and the Inverness event.

The Report on Autumn 2004 Census Consultation (90 KB pdf file) outlines the responses to the consultation document.
