Royal Anniversary Messages

Her Majesty (HM) The Queen sends congratulatory messages for 60th, 65th, 70th wedding anniversaries and every year thereafter, and for 100th, 105th birthday celebrants, and every year thereafter.
 

Online applications may be made through the National Records of Scotland (NRS) using the forms below no earlier than 4 weeks before the event. We will verify the details using our records and pass the information directly to Buckingham Palace.

Wedding Anniversary Messages - points to remember

  • The wedding must have taken place in Scotland for us at NRS to be able to process your request.
  • Notify us of a wedding anniversary no earlier than 4 weeks before the event.

  • Should you wish a personal visit from your Lord-Lieutenant (or his/her representative) on the day of your Anniversary please make direct contact with the Clerk to the Lieutenancy as detailed in the attached list of Lord-Lieutenants.

Birthday Messages - points to remember

  • Celebrants of the birthdays mentioned above who are in receipt of a state pension will automatically receive a message from HM The Queen.

  • The Department for Work and Pensions organise birthday messages, but as a back up you can notify us at NRS no earlier than 4 weeks before the event.
